i2Cool (i2Film)

Sumitomo Riko (Refleshine)

Nakagawa Chemical

LX Benif

Refleshine is a high performance clear glass film that can be applied to the inside of window panes to help save energy.
Generally speaking, improving the performance of thermal and insulation films will hamper transparency in terms of daylight and visibility.
Refleshine is a film that uses cutting-edge technology to overcome the conflicting issues of thermal insulation/insulation and transparency.

Summer insulation

Block heat from outside (thermal insulation).
The film reflects (blocks) the near infrared rays that cause summer heat.
And prevent the heat outside the window from entering the room.

Winter insulation

Prevents warm indoor air from flowing out (insulation).
The film reflects warm indoor air (far infrared rays) and reduces heat loss through the windows, so warm air in the room does not escape.

Features

1. Insulation and heat preservation
2. It is expected that the annual heating and cooling electricity consumption will be reduced by 20%-30%
3. Prevent scattering
4. The light transmittance can reach up to 73%
5. UV transmittance is less than 1%

Frequently asked questions

  1. Will film make the glass less likely to break?

  2. How long does window film last?

  3. Is there data to support the effectiveness of preventing glass scattering?

  4. What exactly is the test based on the JIS A 5759 standard?

  5. What exactly is the heat ray blocking effect?

  6. Can it be applied to any type of glass?

  7. What insects does it work against?

  8. Can it be applied to polycarbonate or acrylic sheets?

  9. What preparations should be made before construction?

  10. Aren’t you worried about the surrounding equipment getting dirty?

  11. Are there any precautions after applying the film?

  12. How long is the warranty period?

  13. What is the daily construction volume?

  1. Architectural window films can effectively prevent secondary damage caused by flying and falling fragments when the glass breaks, and prevent falling objects from penetrating glass surfaces such as arcades. Just because you have window film installed doesn’t mean the glass itself will be stronger and won’t break.

  2. When used on glass, the expected lifespan indoors is approximately 5-10 years. Guidelines from the Japan Window Film Industry Association also recommend that clear types of glass film should be replaced if they are installed for more than 10 years. Durability varies depending on the construction environment.

  3. It has passed various tests based on the JIS A 5759 standard.

  4. There are two methods: Method A (impact fracture test), which deals with safety when a person or object collides with the glass surface; and Method B (interlayer displacement fracture test), which deals with safety when the glass is deformed due to earthquakes, for example.

  5. It improves indoor cooling efficiency by blocking heat rays that pass through the glass.

  6. Except for special circumstances, it is applicable to most ordinary transparent glass. However, in some cases it may not be possible to apply it to wired glass due to the risk of thermal cracking.

  7. The film blocks light attraction by cutting out the range of light wavelengths to which many insects are sensitive, so it is effective against insects that are attracted to light. Specifically, these insects include planthoppers, leafhoppers, midges, and moths.

  8. If the film is attached to a polycarbonate sheet or acrylic sheet, the film may warp or swell due to the generation of gas.

  9. During construction, a space of more than 1m must be left around the glass surface. Please move heavy, large, and valuable items in advance.

  10. During construction, you will need to use water to clean the glass and apply the film, but since you only need to use a spray, there is no problem. Use a squeegee as needed during the work.

  11. Since it is installed with water, it takes about 1 to 2 weeks to fully adhere. Please clean it at least one month after applying the film. To clean, use a soft cloth or sponge dampened with water.

  12. The warranty period is 3-5 years from the date the product is installed, but there are some disclaimers. Detailed information will be described in the product warranty section.

  13. Although there are individual differences, the workload per person per day is approximately 20 square meters, including preparation of the construction environment and cleanup before and after construction.

Precautions

• About construction

This product is specially designed for indoor and vertical glass surfaces in buildings.
Do not use it on uneven surfaces or materials other than glass (acrylic, etc.).

• About the risk of thermal cracking

When window glass with film is exposed to direct sunlight, the temperature of the glass increases, potentially causing thermal cracking.

• About radio wave shielding

Refleshine uses a metal film that has radio wave shielding properties.
If installed on the entire surface of a building, it may affect the radio waves of communication equipment, etc., so please check in advance.

• About the iris phenomenon

Refleshine is composed of a substrate, an adhesive and a wear-resistant hard layer, and light interference may occur.
*Although this product is coated with a film to prevent the iris phenomenon from the indoor side, a rainbow pattern may be seen when viewed from outdoors or due to the influence of indoor lighting.

• Appearance after construction

This product is installed on the window using water (mounting fluid).
During cold winter months, it may take a little longer for the water between the film and the glass to drain completely.

• About film maintenance

If the film surface becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft cloth dampened with water or a small amount of neutral detergent (about 0.1wt%).
If there is a seam on the film, wipe along the seam.
Do not use dry cloths, brushes or abrasives for cleaning.
Please avoid using organic solvents, strong acids, strong alkalis or chemicals.

• other

To reduce the chance of performance degradation or risk of thermal cracking, please avoid overlapping films or adding stickers on top of the films.

• Maintenance period (only for installation by approved contractors)

The warranty period is 3 years after installation, but defects caused by external forces (scratches or tears) or natural disasters are not covered by the warranty.
